Juneteenth Gala

The Dalton Whitfield NAACP is excited to host its 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration and Gala. This year’s event is sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. The theme for this year’s celebration is Forward Momentum: Understanding, Uniting and Empowering.

The Gala is the highlight of the Juneteenth celebration. There will be incredible speakers, delicious food, great fellowship, dancing and so much more. Past speakers have included a representative from the Georgia state legislature and a New York Times best-selling author. This year, we were inspired by Poet laureate Amanda Gorman, the youngest poet to perform at a presidential inauguration. We have some amazing youth who will take the stage to entertain us, motivate us, and show us that the future is in good hands.
